Turner Medlicott

Turner Medlicott (he/him) is a 2nd year Master’s of Social Work student in the Integrated Behavioral Health Program. He has previously worked with college-aged adults as a college advisor in Robeson County, improving access and promoting pathways for 1st generation and underrepresented student populations. In his time at UNC Charlotte, he has received the DuBois Excellence Award in Disability Improvement for his work developing the program 3D: Disability, Discourse, & Development within the Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement. This program became one of the first programs on campus to offer support, community building, and skill-building specifically for students with disabilities. Additionally, Turner has worked as an UNC System Equity Fellow on UNC Charlotte’s campus. In this role, he mentors 1st-year undergraduate students who come from underserved counties and high schools. After graduation, Turner hopes to contribute to expanding social work’s role in healthcare, improving experiences, and expanding opportunities at the intersection of disability and LGBTQ+ populations.
