April Godfrey

April Godfrey graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Social Work in May 2023. She was an Honors Student and also had a minor and Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. She is currently an Advanced-Standing Master in Social Work student at UNC Charlotte. Her interests include trauma informed care, childhood mental health, working with children in the foster care system, and eventually opening her own intergeneration program that serves both children and older adults. She has had experience working as an intern at Mecklenburg County Department of Social services in the youth and family services division, where she was named Intern of the Year by Mecklenburg County DSS. April also has experience working with victims of domestic violence and crisis intervention. She is currently is interning at Southlake Pediatrics, an Atrium Health clinic. In the future, April hopes to become a Licensed Clinical Social worker as well as a Registered Play Therapist. She hopes to open her own practice in the future.
