Unika Boyce-Cooley is a final-year student of the 3-year Master of Social Work program and an IBH Scholar at UNC Charlotte. She is a 2021 alumna of the Health Systems Management program at the University. She earned a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Mental Health in 2023. With a decade of experience working with children and allied healthcare professionals, Unika is deeply committed to improving mental health outcomes for first-generation Americans within BIPOC communities and addressing the impact of adverse childhood experiences on mental health. Unika plans to work directly with clients as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) after graduation, providing compassionate care and support. Her long-term goals include administrative roles where she can influence policy and program development and hopes to contribute to academia by training and mentoring future social workers.
