Sumina Shakya

Sumina Shakya is a graduate student pursuing her master’s degree in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work with a major in English from St. Xavier’s College in Kathmandu, Nepal. She is interested in working in child welfare and mental health. During the first year of her master’s degree, she completed her internship with DHHS Foster Care Department in Gastonia. Sumina will be interning with Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic. She is excited to be part of the IBH program and the upcoming opportunities to gain knowledge and develop her skills.
