School of Social Work

My name is Amanda Thomas and I am thrilled to be a part of this years IBH cohort and look forward to expanding my knowledge and skills in the classroom and internship at Cotswold Family Medicine. After working in skilled nursing facilities (Brian Center and Autumn Care) as the Director of Social Services for 7 years, I transitioned into non-profit as the Family Caregiver Support Specialist at Council on Aging in Union County. During my time at COA, I was apart of a team that won multiple awards for the Next Door respite program, led innovative Memory Cafes for caregivers and their loved ones living with dementia which were featured on QC@3, and the ReUnion Chorus which was featured by Molly Grantham of WBTV. I continue to volunteer with The Alzheimers Associations “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” team as a Marketing and Communications Committee Member and Litter Busters of Union County that assists in cleaning local areas of trash and debris.
