Katherine earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before beginning a career in Primary Care Research. She spent the last three years focusing on translating science into routine practice of advancing healthcare services for underserved populations. Prior work includes evaluating the effectiveness of integrative care on behavioral outcomes and mean improvements in HbA1c for patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes. A pharmacist-led multidisciplinary team bridged boundaries between Family Medicine physicians, residents, social workers, behavioral health, and nurses to mitigate structural barriers that impact health. She is currently working on several patient-centered research studies to address health disparities in underinsured populations and provides guidance on evaluating implementation outcomes in various healthcare settings.
