School of Social Work

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Social Work from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May of 2020. While she was an undergraduate, she founded an organization on campus called Coloring for Chemo. This organization raises funds to buy baskets of art supplies and coloring books to donate to children’s hospitals in the area. She was also on the executive board of Ninerthon, UNCC’s chapter of Dance Marathon that raises funds for Levine Children’s Hospital. She completed her undergraduate field placement and first year master’s placement at Myers Park Pediatrics. Sarah is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work with a certification in play therapy. She is excited to have the opportunity to complete her second year placement at Levine Children’s Specialty Clinic in the GI department. In the future, Sarah hopes to pursue her LCSW, work in the field of medical social work and incorporate play therapy and expressive arts therapy. Specifically, she would like to work with children who are diagnosed with chronic illness.
