Carrie Dickenson

Carrie Dickenson is a student in the 2-year Master of Social Work program and IBH Scholar at UNC Charlotte. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Carrie has experience as a middle school teacher for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and as an instructor for Central Piedmont Community College. For the past several years, she honed her interpersonal and management skills through her role as a wife and mother. She is currently interning at Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital (Trauma Survivors Network). Carrie’s previous internship experience was school social work where her work included supporting students facing challenging situations, helping them maintain stability in their education, and connecting them and their families with community resources as needed. In the future, Carrie aims to blend her clinical social work experience with opportunities to advocate for marginalized populations.
