Juan Pizarro

Juan Pizarro is a 2-year Advanced Standing student in the Master of Social Work program and an IBH scholar at UNC Charlotte. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science in 2021. With twelve years of service in the United States Army, Juan is actively engaged in organizations that support veterans and is passionate about working with veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families, focusing on mental health, trauma recovery, and the reintegration process. He is currently completing an internship at Atrium Health Primary Care Davidson Clinic, focusing on integrated behavioral health. He previously interned at the Veterans Service Office at UNC Charlotte, where he gained valuable experience working with the veteran community. Juan is committed to obtaining a clinical license and advancing within both the military and social work sectors.
