School of Social Work

Kristen Fowler is a final-year student in the 2-year Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program and an IBH Scholar at UNC Charlotte. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of New Hampshire in 2017. Her experience includes providing crisis support at a domestic violence shelter and working in wilderness therapy with youth engaging in risky behaviors in Vermont. Additionally, she has experience offering support at a rape crisis center in North Carolina. Kristen is passionate about working with survivors of intimate partner violence. Her work in the field sparked a love of interprofessional collaboration and a desire to help survivors navigate systems and resources confidently, empowering them to make informed choices. She aims to license the skills and knowledge gained through her Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) training by becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and use her collaborative medical expertise to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to survivors of intimate partner violence.
