Layah Hammock earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Valdosta State University. She is currently enrolled in the two-year MSW program at UNC Charlotte. Her interests include clinical case management and youth mental health. Layah has experience interning as a Participant Advocate in the Women in Transition program at YWCA Central Carolinas during her first year of the MSW graduate program, where she carried out case management, career readiness, and financial literacy services to women of ages 50+. Layah will be interning at Atrium Health Cabarras – Senior Behavioral Medicine Unit. In the future, she intends to become a Licensed Clinical Social worker and engage in school-based mental health practices with adolescents and minority populations.
