Lorissa Peters

Lorissa Peters is a 1-year Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program student and an IBH Scholar at UNC Charlotte. She earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology from North Carolina State University in 2024. Lorissa is passionate about working with children, particularly in the areas of developmental disabilities and behavioral health. She has experience in applied behavior analysis, implementing behavioral interventions for preschool to elementary-aged children, and facilitating social skills groups for teenagers. As a community advocate, she initiated the development of a free parent support group for families of children with developmental disabilities. Lorissa is currently interning at Kintegra Health, providing school-based counseling services to adolescents. She plans to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and continue delivering behavioral health services to young populations.
