Moriah Young is in her second and final year year of the Masters of Social Work program at UNC Charlotte. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of South Carolina in 2022. During undergrad she gained experience conducting research related to childhood trauma and its relationship with the development of mental illnesses later in life. Moriah also worked with young adults for 3 years through mentorship programs and supplemental instruction opportunities. Her previous internship took place at a nonprofit organization called The Academy of Goal Achievers where she worked with young adults ages 14-23 as they navigated life’s complexities. This year she will be completing her internship with Atrium Health Primary Care Davidson Clinic. She is excited to be in a new environment and work alongside families and healthcare professionals in a clinical setting. After receiving her MSW, her career goal is to earn and practice as a licensed clinical social worker and become a mental health therapist working with children and adolescents.
