Shannon Lindsay
Shannon Lindsay is in her second year of the 2-year Master of Social Work program and an IBH Scholar at UNC Charlotte. She holds a graduate certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UNC Charlotte in 2018. As an undergraduate, Shannon worked as a group fitness instructor and at the career center, gaining valuable experience supporting college students. She has experience working at a non-profit helping adolescents from lower-income communities succeed in high school and transition to college. She also has experience working with college students experiencing crises and other concerns. Currently, Shannon is completing her IBH internship at Atrium Health Primary Care Denver Internal and Family Medicine, Denver, NC where she works with adults and children of diverse ages, addressing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and histories of trauma. After graduating Shannon’s professional goals include becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and working to improve the accessibility of mental health services. She aims to provide affordable therapy to underserved communities, ensuring that individuals who might otherwise lack access receive the care they need.
